He is the truth. He is the most noble cause. We are not doing this just for ideals, but we are being prepared to serve the King who defines all truth, nobility, and all that is good. There is none more deserving of our devotion and our sacrifice. There is no greater cause than His, and there is no greater adventure than this path.

You must choose love. Every day. No one is going to choose it for you. You have to choose it yourself. Love is a choice. Don’t you dare try and tell me otherwise. I know it firsthand, I chose it myself. I have to choose it every day. Love is a choice.

Self-absorption in all its forms kills empathy, let alone compassion. When we focus on ourselves, our world contracts as our problems and preoccupations loom large. But when we focus on others, our world expands. Our own problems drift to the periphery of the mind and so seem smaller, and we increase our capacity for connection - or compassionate action.
